Weeknotes 14 (Standard Edition)

Grown Your Own
Grow Your Own has begun at the Science Gallery, Dublin. New Mumbai and Into Your Hands Are They Delivered are both being shown as part of it and it looks like a great line up of stuff as you'd expect from a show that has been curated with the help of Daisy Ginsberg, Tony Dunne and Cathal Garvey. It runs through to the end of January, I'd recommend checking it out if you're Ireland-side.

Into Your Hands Are They Delivered

Creators Project piece
Radha Mistry wrote a piece predominantly about the kind of work I've been doing, specifically Mercenary Cubiclists and Into Your Hands for the Creators Project. She talks about the power of stories to communicate complex ideas and encourage critical thinking. I've also taken these ideas to a recent TEDx at Warwick which I'll be publishing the video from soon enough.

Designed Conflict Territories tumblr.
Since writing Designed Conflict Territories, I've had some great conversations with people about how to take it forwards as well as a barrage of links and ideas. I've set up a very quick project page on my website (mostly to nail it down as a point of action) but most activity will be happening on a dedicated tumblr which I've set up. I also welcome collaborations and submissions for the tumblr.

Lecture for Kingston MA Design

Last week I gave an hour-long lecture to Kingston MA design students on critical design and various associated practices. Judging from feedback, the lecture was well received and a couple of folk have indicated their curiosity about what I showed / talked about. I'm not going to transcribe the hour, but I've attached the slides in jpeg form (no videos obviously) so that anyone can browse.

Later.
